On November 27th, 2009 at Movember, Rufguts shocked the crowd by cashing in his Right to Challenge contract after D-Hoya had won an exhausting 6 man Elimination tag match. Along with his hand picked special guest referee, X-Rated, Rufguts forced D-Hoya to tap out, becoming the NZWPW Heavyweight Champion for the first time!

Travis Banks & JC Star
The Bay Bash 2009 - Four teams entered a tag team tournament. The winners got a shot that same night for the belts. The team of Travis Banks & JC Star defeated The Circus of Tragedy and Corey Dallas and Rufguts in a tournament to earn a shot against Manalanche. After Rufguts took JC out at the end of their bout, Travis Banks' took on Adam Avalanche and Ben Mana alone in the final bout of the night for the tag team championships. After being picked apart by Manalanche, JC Star came back and helped Travis gain the upper hand, ultimately defeating Ben Mana with the Lion Clutch to become the Tag Team Champions.
