WPW WRESTLING ACADEMY

New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling is proud to announce the opening of New Zealand's first ever fulltime pro-wrestling training academy.  Unlike other wrestling schools in New Zealand where training can only be practised on a part time basis; the WPW Wrestling Academy will run as a three month intensive course.

Its targeted at (But not exclusive to) beginner to intermediate, and will run Monday to Friday, 10.00 am - 2.00pm everyday, there are also Tuesday and Thursday night trainings, and Saturday afternoon workouts.

All participants of the new wrestling academy will also actively participate in wrestling shows, tours and events, as an added bonus; not only will potential candidates be trained by some of WPW's best but we are in discussions of the possibility of guest mentors from Australasia,  ROH, TNA and possibly the WWE

Upon completion of training, participants who believe they have the entrepreneurial drive, may even be offered a franchise package to aid them in their journey.

Martin Stirling believes that it will spark a new era in New Zealand professional wrestling and will not only lift the profile of New Zealand wrestling to the world, but will also give everyone a chance to live their dream.

This week the full details of the course will be published on the WPW website.

Marton Mayhem

NZWPW is on the road again and this time it is to the town of Marton, a stirling little town just before Bulls.
Right off the heels of a brutle Flag Vs Flag match there is no respite for Jakob Cross who will be this time defending the honour as the local hometown hero against cross town rival from Bulls Travis Banks. This is sure to be an explosive match as not only is there the cross town rilvarly but also it is Travis Banks first return to NZWPW being released and signing with their Auckland affiliate IPW. How will the home coming go down?
NZWPW Heavyweight Champion D-Hoya is headed for a collision course with former champion Rufguts Roddy Gunn, but in the mean time he has been fighting his way through the rest of Project Mayhem defeating Johnny Idol at Bringing Down the House, he is now up against the always unpredictable James Shaw.
Talking about the former Champion and Project Mayhem leader since losing the title at Powerplay he has been bullying his way through opposition and getting his nose involved in D-Hoyas business to show every chance he can, to show that he wants that title back. But before that there is one other man who has his eyes set on revenge with Project and that is the Man Mountain Tykade, two of the biggest men in NZWPW are set for a goliath battle.
Also on the card
Liam Fury Vs Johnny Idol
JC Star Vs Axl
Mikey Rave/Taylor Adams Vs Fred the Great/Shining Nick Silver
JPE Vs Misty

NZWPW Chairman (Martin Stirling) has decided to bring the next show back to "He Toa Sports" as a homage to WPW's early beginnings:

"I feel that wrestlers need to remember where they come from," says Stirling. "Its a good way to keep them all grounded; especially in a sport where it is easy to get caught up in the lime light".

The show will also be an opportunity for reunions, as "High Octane" (J.C Star and Corey Dallas) will be joining forces once again to take on "The Circus of Tragedy" in a tag team bout that is sure to please all in attendance, both Star and Dallas have not teamed together since the beginning of the IPW invasion last year, so are keen to see if they still have their tag team magic that made them such a formidable force back then.
The Beast of the British Isles (Jacob Cross) has stated that he has not yet finished with the Maori warrior (Ben Mana)."Mana wouldn't know what true wrestling was if it came up to him and bit him on his buttocks,"states Cross. Cross will have his opportunity to see if he can finally follow through with his threats.
Tykade is out for vengence against "Project Mayhem" after they deliberately interfered with his match against D-Hoya at the last show in Porirua; WPW management have agreed to Tykade's request for a bout, and have chosen "James Shaw" to be his opponent.  Shaw is becoming a regular mainstay at the WPW events and will know doubt have his "Project Mayhem" team mates in attendance.
D-Hoya was another who was also unimpressed with Project Mayhem's interference at the last Porirua show, so has decided to accept a match against the youngest member of "Project Mayhem" (Johnny Idol).  Idol has made a huge mark in WPW and plans to make an even bigger one by taking on the WPW champ himself, thus solidifying himself as a major contender for the WPW Heavyweight Title.
All this and more at "Bringing Down The House"!

The Chairman of New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling Martin Stirling has issued a statement about the recent signing of former wrestler Travis Banks with Impact Pro Wrestling:

"Travis Banks has now made an official decision to join IPW," states Mr Stirling. "This does not mean he will no longer be appearing on any WPW shows! It just means he has been given a temporary probation period so that he can better adapt to life with IPW. Once I am confident that he has served his probation period, Mr Banks will no doubt come back bigger and better then ever to yet again dazzle the WPW fans in Wellington," says Stirling. "But I do wish him well for the future" .

New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling ventures to Levin this friday to crown new WPW Tag-Team Champions.  There has been much debate on which team will emerge the winner, and fans have already been making predictions of who may claim the glory.  WPW Chairman (Martin Stirling) has stipulated that it be a four corners match for the titles, and just to make it more interesting the C.W.O (Rehua) has added that it also be a "Traditional Survivor Style Match" therefore teams will be eliminated until only one is left standing.

Levins own "Misty" will be taking on newcomer "Candy Cane" in a ladies bout, this will be Candy's official debut in WPW and even though both girls may hale from Levin, Misty has promised Candy a welcoming she will never forget.

Jacob cross will get another chance to take down the man mountain known as Tykade, Cross believes that if he can defeat Tykade, then it will put him into title contendership.
