Gisborne

The people of Gisborne came out to show their support for the Ray Barret Whanau Trust and were treated to a great night of action, including the reinstatement of the Tag Team Titles.

Zodiak def. “The 80’s Mix-Tape” Little Joker via submission

Sporting new attire; Little Joker quickly found himself part of a great and fast paced match against Zodiak. Both these young wrestlers joined NZWPW as part of the Generation Next initiative.  The match progressed quickly and received a great response from the crowd who seemed to be right behind Little Joker.  Zodiak found himself on the receiving end of nearly all the offence until he showed his in-wrestling skills being able to out maneuver Joker in to a Sharpshooter for the win.

Misty def. Matatraki via pinfall

Once more these Women wrestlers have a show down.  One of NZWPW’s top female wrestlers Matariki dominated most of the match, she was even able to counter two attempts of the Misty Stretch, it looked as though Matariki would finally pick up her second win against Misty but Misty was able to pick up the win in impressive style when she hit the Misty Makeover.

Shining Nick Silver def. Travis Banks via pinfall

Shining Nick Silver entered this match with as much cockiness as always, showing how he was the ring veteran that oozed technical skill, during the match he often took young gun Travis Banks down to the mat even gaining a few near falls until Travis managed to reverse a Silver Bullet attempt by Shining Nick, with Travis looking like the win was his; he attempted to deliver a suplex to Nick, but this was expertly reversed by Shining Nick Silver into a Silver Bullet that left Travis Banks down and out.

Tag Team Titles returned to competition

Directly after half time CD came down to the ring for his match with the Circus of Tragedy, he brought with him his old friend "Jimmy Sparx".  When they hit the ring however they refused to compete; telling everybody in attendance to leave and proceeded to inform them that "The show was over", "The Chief Wrestling Officer has made it impossible to have a fair match for the titles"  The crowd seemed agitated by this turn of events. "We are taking over this ring and will only leave once the Tag Titles are made active so they can compete for them fairly" the locker room started to empty as Zodiak who was promptly thrown over the top rope, and then Travis Banks arrived to a huge Backdrop for his troubles.  The giant Tykade and Ben Mana were next to climb in the ring.  The crowd were anticipating a brawl however; Tykade turned to the crowd and said "We don't like these guys, but they have a point; make the titles active so we can fight for them and win them".  With the four men waiting in the ring the show ground to a halt until the NZWPW Announcer was given the word from the Chief Wrestling Officer:

"From this stage onwards the Tag Team Titles will be re-instated, the team of Jimmy Sparx and CD will compete later tonight against the team of Tykade and Ben Mana to decide who will go on to face The Circus of Tragedy for the titles at Power Play."

Adam Avalanche def. Dreamcatcher via pinfall

With no tag match to fight Dreamcatcher found himself on the receiving end of a beat down by Adam Avalanche with no back up from his Circus of Tragedy team mates Dreamcatcher found him self dominated by the monstrous form of Adam Avalanche, The Wave of The Avalanche became the final nail that left Dreamcatcher down for the pinfall.

Rufguts def. Osiris via pinfall

Osiris used his unorthodox style to keep Rufguts from capitalizing on his size and came very close to gaining a win against the big man, but Rufguts showed us all why he is championship material and was able to hit a trash taker #1 to secure the win.

Tykade and Ben Mana def. CD and "Mr. Right.... Now" Jimmy Sparx via pinfall

The match was started in quick fashion as both Jimmy and CD cowardly attacked Tykade and Ben-Mana from behind but quickly found the size game becoming too much being turfed out over the rope to the floor. Jimmy faced off against Ben Mana, when it became evident that his superior size and strength was a problem Jimmy tagged out to CD who quickly turned the match around getting on top of Ben Mana and gaining a near pinfall. It was mayhem when Ben Mana finally managed to get a tag out to his partner Tykade who flew into the ring landing a huge clothesline on Jimmy which busted him open a second clothesline on CD left both members of the opposition down and out on the outside. Somehow Jimmy and CD were able to find the will to drop the big man to his back, it then took a concentrated attack from both Jimmy and CD to ensure he stayed there they continued to have the upper hand in this match until Tykade rose to his feet, countering a double suplex attempt with a huge suplex of his own, with Jimmy on the outside CD was thrown over the top rope on top of his partner at this point Jimmy and CD had, had enough and went to leave before they reminded themselves that this match was for The #1 Contendership Of the now “Official” Tag titles, Jimmy and CD headed back to the ring, using this new found passion CD and Jimmy entered the ring with punches flying they however found themselves quickly countered when Ben Mana hit the Mana slam on Jimmy and Tykade ended the match with the Gameover.
