Power Play Postponed
NZWPW would like to announce that this years Power Play has been postponed, therefore! in place of Power Play; NZWPW will be heading for the east coast.
Ray Barret! A man who has been heralded as a hero to the Hicks Bay Community died tragically when the Fire Truck he was travelling in over turned. He and his wife Joan set up the volunteer ambulance and fire service in Hicks Bay almost 20 years ago, with many people losing count of the amount of people he (Ray Barret) has saved over the years. So loved and respected by the people of Ngati Porou was this man that the Mayor of Gisborne has set up a trust to raise funds to provide for his (Ray Barret) family.
His son Tahi was also seriously injured in this accident.
New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling will be travelling to Gisborne and Hicks Bay over the Easter weekend to run two shows to help raise funds for Ray Barrets family. "They have done so much for the community and so much for Ngati Porou that we feel they deserve all the support they can get over this tough time, this is why we are taking our show and heading north to help out" as earlier quoted by NZWPW management.
This tour of the East coast starts on Friday 6th March at Heretaunga Highschool; where four men will compete for the honour of donating $1000 of NZWPW's own money to the Barret family. Involved in the match are Wainuiomata Local Jimmy Sparx, Lower Hutt local by way of Taranaki J.C Star, Taita Local and proud member of Ngati Porou D-Hoya would be more than proud to have the chance to donate this money to the family and Upper Hutts own resident trashman Rufguts will round off the competitors. The four men will compete in Tag Team Action with the winner gaining the honour of presenting the family with a $1000 bonus as well as the raised funds on April 11th 2009 in hicks bay. All money raised from ticket sales at the event on Friday night at Heretaunga Hellfire will also be donated to the family.
Tickets can be purchased from: Maidstone Sports Power on Geange St, Upper Hutt
Rufguts and Jimmy Sparx vs JC Star and D-Hoya
Rufguts and Jimmy have never seen eye to eye and J.C Star is the number one contender for D-Hoya's title, this match has a battle written all over it not only between the two teams but maybe even within the teams themselves.
NZWPW.CO.NZ Pick to win - Home town support goes a long way we see Rufguts picking up the win in this one, we wouldn't be surprised if he brings out some trash to finish the job.
