090724_avalancheAdam Avalanche is a three-time NZWPW Tag Team Champion, thanks to Ben Mana’s shocking turn on his partner, Tykade.

Avalanche took to the ring ready to announce his mystery partner when Mana suddenly attacked Tykade, making it clear that he and Adam were aligned the whole time! Thrown off guard by such an unexpected betrayal, Tykade was never really able to get into a dominant position in the handicap match, and eventually lost his tag title to Avalanche when a double urange smashed him into the mat.

D-Hoya and JC Star rushed to the ring to stop ‘Manalanche’ from beating down Tykade or the referee any further, but the damage had already been done and Avalanche & Mana headed backstage as the new NZWPW Tag Team Champions.

JC Star found himself disqualified in an epic match against Rufguts, after a chair was brought into the ring. Star was not the one to bring in the foreign object though, having survived an emerald fusion from Rufguts and rallied back to slam the big man from the middle rope. As Rufguts slid into the ring with the chair, Star blasted it back into his face with the Starstruck Superkick for a controversial disqualification.

The NZWPW Champion, D-Hoya, fell victim to the Circus of Tragedy in a non-title match with “Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate. It became apparent that Woodgate would have a hard time defeating D-Hoya early into the contest, until a new-look Axl strode to the ring. Woodgate quickly diverted the referee’s attention while Osiris leapt to the apron and swiped D-Hoya with his trademark chain. Axl slid under the bottom rope and finished D-Hoya with the Atomic Spinebuster, allowing “Dream Catcher” to easily roll on top of the NZWPW Champion for a huge win.
