090815_rufgutsRufguts has the Right 2 Challenge the NZWPW Champion any time he wants within the next year after a phenomenal victory in last night’s Right 2 Challenge Match.

Within seconds of the match beginning, JC Star and Travis Banks formed a temporary alliance to eject Corey Dallas and Rufguts from the ring, before taking them down with a pair of suicide dives! Banks and Dallas rolled back under the bottom rope while Rufguts set about dismantling JC Star on the outside with baking trays and a rubbish bin he had brought to the ring with him.

“The Ideal Experience” Corey Dallas dropped Banks with a brutal slam as Rufguts and Star moved back into the ring. Rufguts was soon neutralised by a dropkick from Star, leaving he and Travis Banks to take turns lighting CD up with knife-edge chops.

Star wowed the Palmerston North crowd when he turned a superplex into a powerbomb, taking out all of his opponents. Rufguts soon outdid him though, scoop slamming all three of his opponents in a row before crushing them all with a massive senton splash!

As everyone slowly got back to their feet, Star threw Banks and Dallas across the ring with t-bone suplexes, but was unable to lift Rufguts. Corey Dallas dominated Banks and Star with vertical suplexes, but also failed to lift Rufguts. Travis Banks then drove Dallas and Star into the mat with German suplexes, before changing tact and taking Rufguts down with a powerslam!

JC Star climbed to the top rope while his three opponents were brawling mid-ring and took them all down with a picture-perfect moonsault. As everyone got back to their feet Dallas clotheslined Star over the top rope and turned around just in time to get locked in Travis Banks’ Lion Clutch! Rufguts grabbed hold of CD’s hand to prevent him from tapping out and put “The Peak of Perfection” Travis Banks out of action with a scoop slam piledriver!

Corey Dallas ploughed into Rufguts with the Quarterback Sack, before JC Star blasted CD with the Starstruck Superkick. As JC took CD down, Rufguts grabbed a chair and broke it over Star’s head with a brutal shot! With the remains of the chair still hanging around his neck, Star was finished off by Rufguts’ Trash Taker #1 TKO to give the former rubbish-man a shot at the NZWPW Championship any time he chooses.

NZWPW Right 2 Challenge Results:

  • “The 80s Mix Tape” Little Joker def. Johnny Idol via disqualification
Johnny Idol rolled through when “The 80s Mix Tape” set him up for a high impact slam and locked Joker up in a sharpshooter. LJ tapped out, but Idol was reluctant to release the hold. A couple of stomps to the back of the head after the match was over forced the referee to reverse his decision, awarding “The 80s Mix Tape” a disqualification victory.

  • Mikey Rave def. The Nerd
The Nerd took the advantage with his ROFLcopter early into the match, but Mikey Rave used the support of the crowd to avoid being submitted with either a sleeper or the Number Cruncher. The Nerd took to the top rope in an attempt to finish Rave, but when he paused for a breath from his inhaler, Rave leapt to the middle rope and heaved Nerd to the canvas below. Heading to the top in the opposite corner, Rave crushed Nerd with a guillotine leg drop to take the win.

  • 090815_chadhowardNZWPW Championship:
    D-Hoya (c) def. Chad Howard

Howard fared better than many expected in his first shot at the NZWPW Championship, getting his foot on the ropes after D-Hoya nailed him with the Eclipse. Chad then managed to expose one of the turnbuckles and drove Hoya into it headfirst with a hurricanrana. Chad Howard met his end when he tried to take D-Hoya out with a cross body press from the top rope and had it countered to Hoya’s patented End of Da World!

  • Misty found herself without an opponent, and once again attributed it to her total dominance of women’s wrestling in New Zealand. As she was about to leave the ring, Stellar Hammer made her NZWPW debut, letting Misty know that she was not afraid of her. Will these two collide at a future NZWPW event?

  • 2-on-1 Handicap Match:
“Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate & Axl def. Ben Mana

Woodgate camped out on the apron for most of the match, refusing to let Axl tag out on two separate occasions (claiming he needed to warm up and then retie his shoelaces). Axl eventually fell victim to the Mana Slam, which forced Woodgate into the ring to break the cover. “Dream Catcher” made a blind-tag to Axl just before the big man took himself out in an effort to knock down Ben Mana. Woodgate rushed into the ring to cover Mana and stole the win for his team.

  • “Shining” Nick Silver def. Dan “The Man” Stirling
Dan Stirling dominated the first part of the match with his Muay-Thai inspired offense, but met his end after a massive knee from Silver. SNS’s knee was heavily braced following recent surgery, and nearly knocked Dan unconscious. “Shining” Nick followed up with an atomic drop and the Silver Bullet to put Stirling away.

  • Right 2 Challenge Match:
Rufguts def. “The Ideal Experience” Corey Dallas, JC Star, “The Peak of Perfection” Travis Banks

After a frantic match, Rufguts broke a chair over JC Star’s head before driving him into the mat with a TKO to earn the Right 2 Challenge anytime he wants within the next year.

  • Tykade def. Adam Avalanche w/ Ben Mana
With seconds left in the contest, Tykade avoided a Wave of the Avalanche and put Adam down with a huge Rock Bottom to pick up a massive win. Avalanche’s friends swarmed the ring after Tykade’s win and set about beating down the former NZWPW Tag Team Champion until the rest of the NZWPW roster rushed to ringside to save Tykade from injury.
