About WPW:
New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling is one of New Zealands premiere wrestling promotions and has been in operation since 2003. Since its inception nine years ago WPW has enjoyed much success in the New Zealand and Australasian wrestling scene with many of its wrestlers competing throughout Australasia with some members even traveling as far abroad as Japan, China and Canada.
About the Instructor:
Martin Stirling is a forty year veteran in the fields of professional wrestling and Martial arts; he has held multiple titles throughout his career and in 2002 was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of fame. Martin is a qualified teacher, educator and advisor and has aided in the promotion of many international wrestlers to our shores over the last two decades.
About the academy:
The academy is the first of its kind in New Zealand and is based in Petone (Lower Hutt - Wellington) it was set up for the training and development of professional wrestlers, referees and managers and/or those wishing to get into the professional wrestling industry.
Duration:
The training is for a three month period and will be full-time (Mon - Fri)

Training:
The training is aimed at (But not exclusive to) beginner to moderate level. It will begin with basic moves and holds and will eventuate to higher level techniques, physicality and wrestling psychology etc...
We supply training equipment to assist you in your physical fitness; we also have qualified advisors to help you with your overall development. You will also learn other forms of combat such as: Sumo, Kick-boxing and Self defence as well as aspects of the pro-wrestling industry such as advertising, marketing and sports management etc... you will also be participating fully in all our live wrestling shows, tours and events.
(Due to the nature of the training, it is advised that you be in good shape upon commencement, you will be asked to provide a doctors certificate indicating that you are healthy and fit enough to attend, we also ask that you sign a liability waiver. If you are under 18 years of age then you must provide a permission slip from a parent and/or guardian)
Training Fee/costs:
$1000 - Full program (Payment made by prior arrangement)
If there are two or more of you applying at the same time to attend the program, then the fee can be negotiated.
There is a deposit of $100 required upon registration, this will confirm your attendance at the academy.
Accomodation:
You will be expected to cover your own accomodation and housing while you are training with us; we may however be able to aid you with some budget accomodation (First in, first serve basis) but we are more than willing to help you find a suitable alternative.
